Hello friends,

You might be as surprised as I am to learn that Team StarKid has officially started an official tumblr, and that this is our first official post. We’ve avoided it thus far because of rumors told to us by fans and friends. Rumors of unsavory shipping, bizarre role-play (Nick Lang’s Legs), and fanfics that would chill us to the bone.

But I figure that there’s no better time than when working on Twisted to take a walk on the dark side. So let this be a place of discovery and delight! Come here for any and all official Twisted updates, exclusive content, and answers to all your StarKid needs. And maybe it’ll just be a place for us to have some fun too! Now someone tell me how to pronounce GIF, and help me make one!

Starkid at Invasion: Talking about "the incident" before Starship

Joey: The way I ended up on Starship was I did three days in Michigan at college then got the train to Chicago for rehearsals. On a Monday night were learning the dance to Beauty. And I made an off colour comment about the choreography and everyone - they were so mad at me.

Joe: Wait, just let me fill in the details, set the scene. We were super behind schedual and it was no fun and everyone hated everything and everyone. And Nick (Lang) was trying to teach people choreography and do the puppets at the same time. And Nick is literally the nicest person I know - like he can not be negative. Except this one time, because of what Joey said.

Joey: I was just like, there was this one move that was so boring and so I said we just keep doing this same move over and over again, can we not do something else. And everyone just stopped.

Joe: And so Nick was like "Do you want to direct this show", and Joey in this small voice said "no". And then Nick just left, he walked out of the room.

Joey: Then I left Chicago and got the train back to Ann Arbor and didn't see them all again for four days, But it was fine, we hugged it all out when we got back.

Dylan: I'd be Richard.
Jamie Lyn: Joey, I'd like to be you. But just so I could live with Brian Rosenthal for a day.
Lauren: I'd like to be Nick Lang. Nick is just such an incredible artist. I'd love to have that talent.
Joe: I'd like to be Darren, just so I could see what being rich and famous for a day would be like.
Brian: I was gonna say, I'd like to be Darren. But just so I could see how much damage I could do to his career in just one day.
Joey: I'd love to be Nico (Ager) because he just reads so much and I'd love to just do that. Just to sit all day and read the amounts he does. That'd be awesome.
Denise: I'd like to be Nick, because he just got a kitten and redid his bedroom to be kitten friendly. And there's now like feathers in his room and this little coffee table where it sleeps.

I read that the cast list for Twisted is up but apperently Nick is not on it, and that just made me lose all exitment i had for the show. I know that he is one of the writers but I just want to see more of him. Am I a terrible Starkid fan?

Not gonna lie: We were really hoping he’d be in the show, too. And the fact that there would be “puppet characters” gave us hope that that might be the case!

But he’s not in it, and that is ok too! I know Nick and the others spent a long time figuring out the cast of this show, and I am sure they picked the perfect people for each role. If Nick, Matt and the others did not think he was right for any of the characters, I will trust their opinion :)

But don’t worry about Nick not being physically in the show: His presence will be found in the writing :) I have full confidence in this crew and believe Twisted is going to be ~~totally~~ awesome!!
