Friendly reminder that Nick and Darren once sang a duet.
Many years ago, I lived with Darren for a summer. Basically, I started telling him about our ideas for The Very Potter Musical; a musical about Harry Potter. This was a year before we actually did it. And Darren starting saying like, “Oh yeah, yeah, yeah that’s pretty cool, I was thinking about writing two Harry Potter themed songs.” And he wanted to write one where Harry Potter was just a metaphor in the songs that he was writing. And one was a song called ‘Goin’ Back to Hogwarts’ that was about, you know, going back to your childhood and going back to your friends and stuff like that.
And then he was like, “Then I want to write a song called ‘I Was Harry Potter’. Where it’s about you losing everything and about how you used to be a cool guy and now you’re a loser”. Those were his two ideas for Harry Potter themed songs.
And then when we were doing the first one we were like, “Hey let’s use your idea for that song ‘Goin’ Back to Hogwarts’ and that’ll be the beginning of the show”. And he was like, “Yeah sure okay”.
And in this one, we were like, let’s use the ‘I Was Harry Potter’ idea. This was also when we made up the show, right after the sequel was done; we assumed that Darren would be writing music for it, but he ended up not being able to.

I see a Nick Lang there!
Always makes me wish he’d join in more of their singing.
Can I hug you both please ?
We’ve got some very classy boys right here.
(Both of whom I would like to hug as well, msinvisiblegirl)
Matt what are you doing
The Thursday before my 4th Lang brother production starts is upon us. I am lying bed eating yogurt, almonds, and blackberries and sipping black coffee. This will probs be one of the last moments of peace before the storm.
I got an email from Bonbon last night saying that we would not be working 12 hour days like before, but “bring a water bottle and get ready for some fun!” ohlordlol. translation: “bring a water bottle and get ready for to sleep over in the WALGREEN FOR THE NEXT TWO WEEKS.”
I have done a Lang brother show every one of my years in college. Rule of thumb? You don’t get to bed before 2. There will be cardboard props. Matt will eat Panda at every rehearsal. Lauren will roll around on the floor. Darren will peace randomly for four hours because he has to play a set at Sava’s. Jaime will wear my clothes and I hers. Joe will give me crazy eyes. Scratch that. Joe has crazy eyes. There will be puppets. There will be wide spread panic the day before the show. Then, the show will happen and it will be brilliant.
Breathe in. Breathe out. I’m ready to goooooo!
